2016 Canada Goose Season Proposals

The US Fish and Wildlife Service has allowed the state to set bag limits on Canada Geese at five a day through September and three a day for the balance of the season.
Our WI DNR Waterfowl Biologist Kent Vanhorn has stated that the population levels of the MVP flock and the local Canada Geese is in decline and has proposed lesser limits.
At the February meeting of the GBDHA, input from the membership was solicited on setting the bag limits on all Canada geese.
After much discussion, it was decided by a majority vote to support a three a day bag limit for the entire early and regular Canada goose season.
It was felt this would provide a conservative bag limit at the same time simplify the rule on possession limit.
