Jun Monthly Meeting

The Green Bay Duck Hunters Association will meet on Monday, June 5, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. at the Barkhausen Waterfowl Preserve.

There will be a special event before the meeting starting at 5:00 p.m.

GBDHA member Mike Pierce will give a presentation on decoy carving in light of the upcoming carved decoy contest, which is in conjunction with the Federal Duck Stamp Contest being held in Stevens Point this September.

The decoy carving demonstration will start at 5:00 p.m. and lead up to the start of the meeting at 7:00 p.m.

Mike will demonstrate decoy carving with hand tools (hatchets and drawknives) and in addition, a skill from the Maryland Bay men, chopping decoys with a hatchet.

Mike’s carved decoys are always a hit at the Roadkill banquet. This will be a very interesting presentation, get there early for a “good seat”.

Planning for the 2017 Local Canadian Goose Banding will be the topic of the meeting. The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources banding project will take place between June 26 – 28, 2017 in Brown, Kewaunee and Outagamie Counties.

The GBDHA members have done a great job in the past of scouting for banding locations and getting land owners permission to access the geese. Please send locations to Dave Swanson at greenbaydha@gmail.com.

Apr 2017 Monthly Meeting

The Green Bay Duck Hunters Association will meet on Monday, April 3, 2017 at the Barkhausen Waterfowl Preserve.

Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Conservation Warden Cara Kampke will give a presentation on the upcoming 2017 Spring Conservation Congress Hearings held statewide on Monday, April 10th at 7:00 pm.The Brown County hearing will be held on the NWTC Campus.

The GBDHA volunteers assistance in the registration of attendees to the hearing. Your participation will be appreciated.

Mar 2017 Monthly Meeting

The March monthly meeting of the Green Bay Duck Hunters Association ( GBDHA ) will be held on Monday, March 6, 2017 at 7:00 pm at the Barkhausen Waterfowl Preserve.

Joe Loehlein and Dave Swanson will give a presentation on the Duck Rescue Program. The project has been presented locally to WI DNR Staff and was recently presented at the WI Wildlife Rehabbers Association State Conference held at Mosquito Hill Nature Preserve near New London.

The Duck Rescue Program was also recently recognized for 35 years of volunteer service to the Green Bay Wildlife Sanctuary.

Gary Fontaine will be giving an update on the Roadkill Banquet on Saturday March 25, 2017 at Pamperin Park Pavilion. Doors open at 5:00 pm. Bring your favorite wild or not game food, sides and or deserts. All game recipes, fur or fowl welcome.

Reminder: current membership is required to attend the banquet and auction. Your annual dues of $20.00 provides family entrance to this great event plus: the spring smelt fry and the August Corn Roast.
