The Green Bay Duck Hunters Association will meet Monday, February 1, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. in the Interpretive Center at the Barkhausen Waterfowl Preserve, located at 2024 Lakeview Drive / CTH J Suamico.
Brianna Kupsky, the coordinator for the UWGB Wild Rice Restoration Project of Southern Green Bay, will present an update and and the current status of the wild rice project. The GBDHA assisted in this project last November for the fall planting. President Roger Hanson provided some of the needed watercraft and manpower to distribute wild rice in a targeted area.
Along with UWGB project staff, Roger joined in the project with Brian Glenzski, Regional WI DU Biologist along with other WI DU Staff.
Other meeting business will include information on the Road Kill Banquet Fundraiser occurring on Saturday, March 12, 2016 (watch for more information on this event). Remember, to attend this special event you need to be a paid up member (membership includes your immediate family). Family membership is still a bargain at $20.00 a year.
A work date will be set for refurbishing mallard nesting cylinders and wood duck boxes.
Please contact a board member prior to the meeting if you have any other association matters to address.
As always, assorted beverages, snacks and humour will be served. New members are welcome.
