Fee Package Call-to-Action
Article submitted on 2017-04-22 by: Dave Swanson
As you may be aware, Ducks Unlimited along with the Wisconsin Waterfowl Association, have joined forces with 12 other large sportsmen’s groups to encourage state lawmakers to modestly increase certain hunting license and stamp fees that have remained stagnant for decades in some cases.
The waterfowl stamp is one such stamp whose cost as not changed in 20 years, resulting in less wetland habitat improvement done by our natural resource professional and private partners due to lack of adequate revenue.
We are proposing to increase the waterfowl stamp from $7 to $12, which will generate an estimated $303,500 per year for additional wetland improvement and enhanced waterfowl hunting opportunities.
Please join the rest of the WI sportsmen’s community and call the office of state Representative John Nygren as soon as possible to express support for the increase in the waterfowl stamp included in the sportsmen’s fee package that Rep. Nygren has been given.
Call – Rep. John Nygren: (608) 266-2343 Co-Chair, Wisconsin Assembly Joint Committee on Finance.
If you live outside Representative Nygren’s district, you’ll also want to contact your representative.
Find your representative at the Wisconsin State Legislature Home page, choose “Find My Legislators”.
